Dr. Mayer was born in Geneva, and grew up between Switzerland, Israel and France.
Mayer was naturally drawn to medical studies, completed a bachelor’s degree in Hadassah Jerusalem, and completed the medical school studies in Geneva. She started her general surgery internship in Switzerland and Belgium, then continued to the Plastic Surgery Department in Geneva and had specialized at the Plastic Surgery Department of the Beilinson Hospital in Israel for a year as part of an internship exchange program.
Upon completing her specialization, Dr. Mayer had worked as a senior plastic surgeon at the University Hospital of Geneva and primarily focused on breast reconstruction, microsurgery, complex facial reconstructions, and body shaping surgeries for patients who have undergone weight-loss treatments. She then completed a fellowship in breast reconstruction and aesthetics in France, with Dr. Delei Bellion (a pioneer in breast reconstruction who has developed innovative techniques) and worked in a private clinic at the Center Dermatologique de Cornavin in Geneva. Upon her return to Israel for family and social reasons, Dr. Mayer had proceeded to obtain the license to practice plastic surgery in Israel. She is currently a senior physician at the RAMBAM Hospital and has a private clinic.
