Education

After graduating with honors from veterinary studies and receiving a scholarship to continue his higher education, Dr. Albagali proceeded to the medical studies, which he also graduated from with honors.

After graduating, he began an internship at the Tel Aviv Ichilov Medical Center and then continued to a specialization in the Orthopedic Department of the Tel Aviv Medical Center.

Successfully passed all the specialization requirements, passed the certification exams and continued on to a sub-specialization in foot and ankle surgery at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

During his work in Canada, Dr. Albagali has worked actively and on a daily basis at the Orthopedic Department of the Jewish General Hospital at the Department of Foot and Ankle, where he specialized in a wide range of treatments and surgeries in arthroscopic and open methods, trauma of the foot and ankle and was a part of a multidisciplinary team treating diabetic foot.

Dr. Asaf Albagali, a specialist orthopedist with a subspecialty in foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries and diabetic foot.

After graduating from medical studies with honors, Dr. Albagali has specialized in orthopedic surgery at the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv and has successfully passed the certification exams.

After completing the specialization Dr. Albagali had proceeded to perform a sub- specialization in the foot and ankle surgery for a year and a half at the largest referent center in Eastern Canada for Foot and Ankle surgery, affiliated with the prestigious McGill University in Montreal. This center specializes in complex foot surgeries, ankle joint replacements, sports injuries and surgeries in arthroscopic and open methods. In addition, it provides a service for multidisciplinary treatment of the diabetic foot.

During his work abroad, Dr. Albagali has practiced and trained shoulder to shoulder with Dr. Chaytor and Dr. Volesky, President of COFAS (Canadian Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society) and other foot and ankle trauma surgeons, leaders in their field. After returning to Israel, Dr. Albagali began practicing as a senior physician in the Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv.

Preliminary or repeated reconstruction and fixation of fractures in the foot and ankle.

Corrections of the forefoot deformities: Hallux Rigidus, Hallux Valgus in open or minimally invasive methods, hammer toes correction, joint fixation, pain in the metatarsal bones, treatment of ingrown nails and more.

Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis and Haglund’s deformity, peroneal tendonitis and posterior tibial tendonitis.

Corrections of deformities of the foot and ankle: flat foot, high arch.
