Invasive radiology is a method, using which various diagnostic and therapeutic operations are performed on the patient’s body, guided by imaging tools such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound. With the help of those imaging tools, the doctor is able to reach the patient’s organ with precision and with negligible damage to the surrounding organs, most often using local anesthesia only – as opposed to the surgical treatment, which is performed under general anesthesia.
