Dr. Cohen Shlomi

Dr. Shlomi Cohen is an expert in obstetrics and minimally invasive operations, gynecologist and a senior surgeon at the Department of Obstetrics of the Shiba Medical Center, Tel ha-Shomer. Head of the Gynecological Endoscopy Unit at the Herzliya Medical Center Hospital. Dr. Cohen has extensive experience in endoscopic surgery in the fields of hysteroscopy and laparoscopy and in the fields of ligation (ESSURE) and fallopian tube catheterization in an ambulatory procedure which allows the patient to return to normal function on the same day of the procedure.
Education

1993- Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Ben Gurion University of the Negev

2001- Graduate of specialization in obstetrics at the Shiba Tel ha-Shomer, published many articles in the international gynecological literature

2001-2002 – Fellowship at the three leading centers for minimally invasive gynecology (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) in France and Belgium. Polyclinic d’hotel Dieu, Clermont-Ferrand, Polyclinic Vichi, Hopital Saint-Fierre, Brussels, Belgium

2002 – Work as a senior surgeon in endoscopic gynecology at the Obstetrics and Day Care Departments of the Shiba Hospital, Tel ha-Shomer.

2000-2002 – 3 times winner of the first prize of the American World Association for Laparoscopy

2003 – Advanced studies in the fallopian tube catheterization under the guidance of Prof. Edmond Confino (of the developers of a method under an X-ray reflection)

2004- Development of a specialized method for the fallopian tube catheterization at Shiba, using a small ultrasound-guided hysteroscope.

2004 – Advanced studies at the Center for Myomas of the Women and Brigham Boston Hospital, branch of the prestigious Harvard University.

2003-2007 – Clinical practice at the Ultrasound Treatment of Uterine Myomas Unit at Shiba

2006- Advanced studies in India under Prof. Pontambaker (one of the world’s leading specialists in advanced laparoscopic surgeries)

2009- Advanced studies in the Netherlands in ESSURE implant insertion for fallopian tube blockage in the hysteroscopic method without incision or anesthesia.

2009 – First twin pregnancy in Israel following an insertion of ESSURE implants into an IVF patient who’d suffered from prolonged infertility and bilateral hydrosalpinx.

2002-2013- Numerous laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgeries at the Shiba, Tel ha-Shomer, Assuta Petah Tikva (Ramat Marpe), Herzliya Medical Center, Ramat Aviv Medical Center, Medica Medical Center, Ramat Gan
