Dr. Sela is a specialist in ophthalmology, a corneal disease specialist, and a surgeon specializing in cataract, corneal and refractive surgery.
Education

Dr. Sela is a Doctor of Medicine graduate, cum laude, from the Technion.

Dr. Sela performed her specialization at the Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center. During the specialization, she gained extensive experience in a variety of ophthalmic surgeries, and was selected as an Outstanding Intern by the Ophthalmologists Association and as an Outstanding Intern by the Rabin Medical Center.

During the specialization, Dr. Sela had received a travel scholarship for advanced studies in refractive cataract surgery at the Boston Eye Group and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, branch of the Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Upon completion of the specialization, Dr. Sela had traveled to the United States where she’d completed a prestigious clinical and research fellowship in corneal diseases and surgeries, cataract and refractive surgery at the University of California, San Diego. During the fellowship, Dr. Sela had gained extensive knowledge and experience in performing complex cataract and anterior segment surgeries, cataract surgery with premium lenses, and corneal transplant surgery including partial thickness corneal transplant and artificial corneal transplants.

Dr. Sela has written and published numerous scientific studies in leading ophthalmology journals, she gives lectures at many international conferences and instructs surgeons in courses from the American Ophthalmology Association. For an updated list of publications click here <-link

Currently, Dr. Sela is a senior doctor at the Beilinson and ha-Sharon Hospitals and heads the Cataract Service at the Rabin Medical Center.

While in office she had established the Premium Lens Clinic at the Rabin Medical Center. She also serves as a clinical instructor at the Tel Aviv University.
