Cataracts cannot return once they are removed, however there are cases known as secondary cataracts. A secondary cataract is formed in the eye that has undergone a cataract removal surgery and can appear within a few weeks, months, and even years after surgery.
In a secondary cataract condition, vision becomes blurred once again due to the opacification of the posterior capsule, which serves to hold the new artificial lens in place.

Blurred vision.
The reason to undergo a YAG Laser surgery for the secondary cataract removal is to painlessly and rapidly improve the visual acuity.
When the posterior capsule is opacified and the vision becomes blurred, removing the secondary cataract allows the light back into the eye and improves visual acuity.
Secondary cataract removal -YAG Laser – is a very simple procedure, lasting only a few minutes, does not involve pain or hospitalization. The treatment is performed by a laser.
Using the laser beam, a tiny hole in the posterior capsule is created. This hole allows the light to pass through, and thus the vision becomes clear again. Treatment only lasts a number of minutes, does not involve pain and does not require hospitalization at all.
